Great fish but unfortunately, one died today. The other otos are thriving and looking fantastic.

All arrived in good condition, no sunken bellies like can often be the case with otos. I did unfortunately lose a few while I had them in my quarantine tank due to having trouble getting them to eat anything (not uncommon for the species, not the seller's fault), but once I got the remaining fish into my established tank, it's had absolutely no issue and can be constantly seen grazing on the surfaces of all the plant leaves for algae. There was never any issue with disease from anything in my shipment, so in this case the quarantine did more harm than good. I don't think I'd suggest dropping any fish directly into a display tank full of other fish without quarantining first, but make sure whatever you put these in has plenty of surface algae for them to graze on. I do put in sinking pellets and blanched vegetables for my plecos, which the remaining oto might be eating as well, but I've never seen it touch them.

I'm giving this four stars in spite of having no surviving otos. One was DOA and the other died the next day, but communication with the seller was great and I was issued a prompt refund for the one that was DOA. Also, every one of the 30 neons, 2 kribs, 4 pristellas, and 3 german blue rams that were also in the order are still doing great three weeks later in spite of one of the bags leaking and as a result the heat pack being wet and cold on arrival. So, not sure what happened with these two little guys, but the health and survival rate of the order overall was much better than I've ever had from the local pet store. Very happy with this purchase and will order from Darren again when I need fish!
